Intruder Alarm

On initial survey of the property, care is taken by our surveyors to ensure the correct detection devices are selected for the appropriate areas, ensuring all potential entry points are covered. We work with the client to design the correct system for their property.

On installation, our fully trained engineers ensure all cables are concealed wherever possible with minimum mess and disruption, to ensure a neat installation and that the installation is carried out to our very high standards and in accordance with European Standard PD6662 & ACPO Police Policy DD243.

There are two main types of intruder alarm systems - audible only or monitored, as detailed below:

Audible Only

On activation of the intruder alarm, an audible only system will activate an internal sounder and an external sounder/strobe unit. Suitable for non-rural, domestic properties.

Digital Communicator Monitoring

This is a cost effective method of monitoring your intruder alarm system. On activation of the alarm, a signal is sent down the telephone line to the “Alarm Receiving Centre” (ARC), who in turn contact keyholders and police to inform them of the activation. Suitable for domestic and small commercial properties.

RedCARE Monitoring

BT RedCARE offers a very secure form of alarm monitoring available. RedCARE continuously monitors the telephone line, thereby being able to detect line cuts and faults within seconds. RedCARE is fully endorsed by insurers and is suitable for all commercial properties. Further information on RedCARE is available at: www.redcare.bt.com

RedCARE GSM Monitoring

BT RedCARE GSM is a "Dual Path" signalling method, offering the same high degree as standard RedCARE, but in addition if the telephone line is cut, signals can continue to be passed to the ARC by way of the GSM mobile network. Further information on RedCARE GSM is available at: www.redcare.bt.com

Dualcom GPRS Monitoring

Like BT RedCARE GSM, Dualcom GPRS is a "Dual Path" signalling method, using the Vodafone GPRS network as the primary signalling source and a standard analogue PSTN line (BT or non BT) as the secondary signalling source. There are no Vodafone call charges as it is supplied as a bundled package.

Alarm Receiving Centre

Our monitored intruder alarm systems are continuously monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by one of the largest Alarm Receiving Centres in the UK "Southern Monitoring Services". Please view their web site for further information, www.smon.co.uk

Maintenance

All intruder alarm systems require maintenance. Our fully comprehensive maintenance cover provides a complete peace of mind cover to ensure continual operation of the alarm system. Our maintenance cover exceeds the requirements stated in PD6662 by providing the following benefits, all included in the annual fee:

A representative on site within four hours of a fault being reported to the company, with call out charges included in the annual fee.

Any replacement materials required are included in the annual fee. Labour being included in the annual fee. An annual service call (two calls for monitored systems), providing comprehensive checking and testing of the system, ensuring the system is functioning correctly, back up batteries tested and replaced where necessary, etc.

By taking out a maintenance contract for your system, you are ensured that by paying a fixed annual fee, any faults that may occur with the system will be our responsibility to repair, and at our own expense. Service visits are carried out by one of our fully qualified service personnel, who are trained to ensure that the system is comprehensively checked and tested to ensure correct operation for the forthcoming year.
